Nika de la Loncha is a Performance and Visual Designer with a research practice based in Social Design. She studied Media Design in Germany and spent half a year in Valencia, Spain to study Visual Arts. From 2018-2020 she worked for different design studios in Germany on interactive installation, film, and motion design. She developed her artistic practice that explores issues concerning the legibility and visibility of digital and physical bodies from a feminist perspective in the Social Design Master department at Design Academy Eindhoven between 2020 and 2022. In this practice, she observes how pop cultural trends, for example in the form of viral media content, are involved in the formation of stereotypical role models and body images. Her work mostly consists of embodied and immersive formats, including combinations of dance, performance, video and sound, in which she touches upon topics like body- and sex positivity and tries to empower others. Her current performative research project "Eroliteracy" has been shown at De Singel (Antwerp), Dutch Design Week (Eindhoven), CTM Festival (Berlin) and MU Hybrid Arthouse (Eindhoven). She currently works on experimental formats for sensual education in collaboration with MU Artspace and explores questions concerning the ownership of digital bodies together with the artist duo Xsenofemme in collaboration with the Kontejner bureau of Contemporary Art Praxis in Zagreb, Croatia.
